The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Star Jen Affleck, 27, has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, Zac Affleck, 30. On Wednesday, TMZ reported that Jen filed for divorce Tuesday in Utah along with a proposed parenting plan. The couple share three children and Jen is currently pregnant with their fourth.
Shortly after the divorce filing was announced, a source said People that Zac is “doing well”. “He and Jen remain focused on preparing for the baby and supporting their children,” the source added.
In a statement to People On Thursday, Zac said he “will always be Jen’s supporter.” “I hope she’s happy in this next phase of her life,” he told the outlet. “I’m just focusing on my kids and thinking about what’s next for me.”
Later Thursday, Zac posted a five-minute TikTok detailing the split. He said he found out Jen had filed for divorce from a “TMZ reporter” but that it was “something we’ve been talking about for a long time.”
“Jen came to see me about a year ago after Dancing with the stars and told me she was unhappy and wanted a divorce,” Zac said. “And I basically begged her to stay, told her I would work on things, fix things, become who she needed me to be, and ultimately we couldn’t make it work.”
Zac said his top priority was his children and he feared he had “let them down.” “I’m afraid of causing them damage,” he said. “And I just hope that we can still give them a normal childhood. But as far as that goes, Jen and I are definitely on the same page: wanting to give them the best life possible, the best childhood possible, being teammates, working together and doing this.” He also added that he would continue to “support” Jen and “be her biggest fan.”
Jen posted her own TikTok on Thursday, suggesting things weren’t so harmonious. It was an old video of her trying to film her daily routine, with Zac offering his own off-camera commentary. “I hope you don’t make a TikTok looking like that,” he said, referring to Jen wearing a bathrobe. “Your boobs are literally like – your boobs are sagging everywhere. You don’t want to post that, baby, I can tell you now.” THE SLOMW The star captioned the post “he was never my biggest supporter.”
The Afflecks — who may or may not be related to Ben — met in 2018 through a Mormon dating app. They married in 2019 and had their first child, Nora, in 2021. They then had Lucas in 2023 and Penelope in 2025. In June, Jen announced she was pregnant again, calling it “Chapter Four” on Instagram. The couple’s eldest just turned 5, meaning they narrowly missed having four under the age of 4.
In July, Jen shared that she suffered from prenatal depression, calling it “painful, confusing and exhausting.” She later said People that she was “deathly ill” in her first trimester and that Zac needed to intervene. “We’ve been through a lot behind closed doors,” she said, “but I have to say I wouldn’t have made it through the first trimester without him.”
Jen and Zac’s relationship difficulties were a central element of the plot of SLOMW over the years. After the first season premiered, Jen said the show found them “in a rocky place.” “Since filming, we’ve been in therapy non-stop,” she told Vulture in September 2024. “If we continue our relationship, changes need to be made. If they don’t, we may need to…look at other options.” The couple briefly separated after that first season but eventually reconciled and announced their third pregnancy in February 2025.
The divorce comes at a particularly busy time for Jen. In addition to being pregnant, she runs the SLOMW spin-off The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange Countywhich will be presented next week.
