Smile 2 Star Kyle Gallner Wants to Play V in Paramount’s Cyberpunk 2077 Movie

Smile 2 star Kyle Gallner is making it known that he’s ready and willing to play V in Paramount’s live-action film adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way from its roots as a tabletop RPG. Thanks to CD Projekt Red’s video game and its remarkable expansion, as well as Studio Trigger’s critically acclaimed Edgerunners spinoff anime, fans of the realistic sci-fi series are eating well.

They’re about to get even more nourishment, as Paramount has revealed that it’s developing a live-action film based on the franchise. So far, we’re unsure of the plot details, so it’s possible we could follow V’s adventures with Johnny Silverhand, or Idris Elba’s Solomon Reed before he meets V – or hell, maybe even Edgerunner 2’s Weak Kingsley, for all we know!

What we TO DO I know there’s no shortage of possibilities for this film, and that’s what has fans so excited. One of those fans is none other than actor Kyle Gallner, who can’t wait to enter Night City as the male version of V.

Just hours after Paramount announced the news on October 8, Gallner posted a photo of himself sporting a clean-shaven haircut, similar to V’s hairstyle in the game’s marketing materials, with the caption: “Take me to Night City.”

It’s safe to say that fans are pretty excited about this possible casting, with many already considering Gallner alongside Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand.

“Kyle and Keanu. Looks outstanding,” one wrote, while another said Gallner would be “PERFECT casting.”

“You and Keanu teaming up? I could be up for that,” another commented.

“It’s HIM! Paramount, please think,” vouched for another.

For now, details about the film are being kept under wraps, but CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski promised that more information would be available soon.

“We are excited to see Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise,” he said on X. “We look forward to sharing more details at the appropriate time.”

While we wait for more news, fans can look forward to Edgerunners 2, which will premiere on Netflix on October 20, 2026.
