‘Smile 3’ taps ‘Hellraiser’ director David Bruckner

Paramount gives horror fans something to smile about with a third installment in Parker Finn’s Smile franchise.

On Wednesday, the studio announced David Bruckner (Hellraiser, The night house) will direct the next film, written by Nick Antosca (Truth, Cape Fear), while Finn is busy directing the Paramount film Possession remake.

Despite Finn’s absence after writing and directing the first two films, he developed and presented the framework for the film that completes the trilogy, on which he is a producer with Temple Hill. Jonathan Fass is executive producer.
