MADRID — The combination of an experimental drug from Tango Therapeutics and Rasonque from Revolution Medicines led to tumor responses in 82% of patients with a certain type of advanced pancreatic cancer, clinical trial results reported Friday showed.

The responses were also durable: 88% of patients were still alive without tumor progression at nine months.

The new data reinforce the theory that pancreatic cancer patients may benefit more from combinations of targeted drugs than from single drugs. The Tango diet is also distinguished by the absence of chemotherapy, long considered a standard treatment against this aggressive cancer.
