Neighbors, now we have composure.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Ohio neighbors blasted the “absent” couple at a village planning meeting last month – and called their presence a “terrible blow” to the community’s “peace and tranquility” – according to transcripts obtained by the Daily Mail.
Neighbors, notably, tried last month to block the newlyweds’ security-motivated plans to erect a fence and plant trees around their $5 million mansion in Bratenahl.
Although Bratenahl’s architectural review board approved a six-foot fence in September, neighbors raised concerns about the couple’s landscaping plans at a meeting Tuesday.
Katherine Bolton, who has lived next door for more than three decades, predicted at the second meeting that “catastrophic sewer backups” would occur if Kelce, 37, and Swift, 36, planted evergreen trees near the old sewer line their properties share.
She told fellow attendees that she was offered a whopping $75,000 to cover her roots, a dilemma she’s discussing with the A-listers’ lawyer.
“This candidate might decide to sell her house next year, maybe move out and buy another house,” Bolton fumed.
“What am I going to do when I have 50 evergreen trees on my sewer line and they’re gone? » she asked. “And I still live here in Bratenahl.”
Meanwhile, Chuck Bauernschmidt, who lives around the corner from the couple’s new home, took aim at the celebrities’ “ridiculous… clean-cutting of shrubs and everything else.”
He claimed “all the trees were gone” and expressed fear that deer would impale themselves on the planned fence.
Kelce and Swift’s planner, Jacob Kutz of Tiny Construction, defended the duo, saying they were “looking for privacy and security…after one of the largest sales in Cuyahoga County.”
He noted that their original plan had already been scaled back from an eight-foot fence surrounding the property to a six-foot fence stopping short of Lake Erie.
Kutz listed the lengths the stars, who married in July, made “just to show they’re good neighbors,” from cleaning sewer lines “without asking for help” to adding a door for Bauernschmidt, who felt “closed out.”
A third plan will be presented at an upcoming meeting – but the board approved landscaping in front of the estate on Tuesday.
Representatives for Swift and Kelce did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
An LLC linked to the Kansas City Chiefs player purchased the lakefront home in March — and Bolton confirmed at Tuesday’s meeting that the mansion was “recently purchased by Travis Kelce.”
The couple, Page Six reported in September, installed an alarm to alert anyone “coming too close to the house.”
The prestigious couple’s real estate portfolio also includes properties in Kansas, New York, Tennessee, Rhode Island and California.
