On Sunday, November 1, the “I Knew It, I Knew You” singer participated in a special Q&A with “Toy Story 5” director Andrew Stanton following the film’s screening in New York. She said her friendship with Anderson mirrored the on-screen bond between Bonnie and Blaze.

“I would love to pick up on what Andrew was saying about finding someone who’s the same gender as weird and silly as you and why Bonnie and Blaze’s story resonated with me so much,” Swift said in a video a fan shared on Instagram.

Taylor Swift moved to Nashville when she was 14

The “Mirrorball” singer then reflected on being the new girl at school after her family moved to Tennessee, and how she struggled with knowing who to be friends with.

“When I moved to Nashville when I was 14, you know, you’re the new kid at school and you’re like, ‘Who should I be friends with?’ These girls are cool, these girls are cool, they’re cool girls,’” she continued. “But there was a girl named Abigail – and she even has curly hair too, like Blaze – and the two of us, all we wanted to do was talk Napoleon Dynamite voices.”

In the video, Swift revealed that they continue to imitate the vocals from “Napoleon Dynamite” to this day.

“And we still do that — and it’s something our husbands have to put up with,” Swift joked, which drew laughter from the audience. She then did her best vocal impersonation of Jon Heder’s character in the classic comedy.

“And so it’s like, you know, when you find that person who completely sees you for the weird little kind that is you at its purest, that struck me so much while watching the movie,” Swift added.

Taylor Swift received Randy Newman’s blessing for her song “Toy Story”

Swift wrote and recorded “I Knew It, I Knew You” specifically for “Toy Story 5.” While discussing the song with Good Morning America in June, she revealed that she was the only songwriter to create music for a “Toy Story” film, aside from composer Randy Newman, who wrote the theme “You’ve Got A Friend in Me” for the original 1995 film.

“I felt wonderful knowing that I had Randy’s blessing to write for this film since I am the first songwriter to participate in the Toy story world outside of Randy,” she said. “I was absolutely blown away by it. It’s my favorite Toy story movie.”

It’s no surprise that Anderson attended Taylor Swift’s star-studded wedding to Travis Kelce earlier this year. As PEOPLE magazine reported, Anderson arrived at Madison Square Garden in a Sau Lee dress with a fitted corset top adorned with magnolia flowers and a brown silk skirt.

The two men have often shown solidarity over the years. Anderson appeared in the crowd during the Eras Tour in Nashville and was also featured in Swift’s documentary “Miss Americana.” She also made appearances in several of Swift’s music videos, including “Picture to Burn”, “I’m Only Me When I’m with You”, “New Romantics”, and “Fifteen”, which mentions her directly by name.

Taylor Swift was a bridesmaid in Abigail Anderson’s first wedding

In September 2017, Taylor Swift was a bridesmaid when Anderson married photographer Matt Lucier. Unfortunately, they broke up in 2021.

In September 2022, Anderson Berard married Charles Berard, chief technology officer at Celero Commerce. They welcomed their first child, a son named Bennett, in August 2024. Anderson revealed the pregnancy announcement on Instagram with a wink to Swift, quoting lyrics from Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” song “But Daddy I Love Him.”

“I’m having his babyyyy…” she wrote, with a blue heart emoji. The photo, of course, was only liked by Swift herself.
