Ted Cruz makes terrible confession mid-term: “I am deeply, deeply worried”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) expressed deep concern about the upcoming midterm elections, admitting in the latest episode of his podcast, “The Verdict,» that he is “deeply concerned” about Democrats taking back the House and Senate – and winning every statewide election in Texas.

“Overall, I’m deeply, deeply concerned,” Cruz said during the episode that aired Friday, adding, “What we’re seeing across the country is massive Democratic turnout. Democrats are showing up, they’re energetic, they hate, hate, hate Donald Trump. And I don’t want to bury the LED.”

He warned: “I want to start with the bad news right now: If the election ended today, if only the first votes cast so far were counted, the Republicans would lose massively. It wouldn’t be close. We would lose both the House and the Senate. It would be a bloodbath.”

Democrats are mobilizing early to vote in person in record numbers for midterm elections, surpassing or matching Republicans in key states, and many polls and pundits predict Democrats will obtain majorities in the House and Senate.

“By the way, Texas is excruciatingly close,” Cruz warned Friday. “Understand, we could lose Texas. Let me say that again: We could lose Texas. And by the way, not just the Senate race, we could lose the entire statewide election in Texas – that’s how close these numbers are.”

He noted: “Now some conservatives are saying, ‘I don’t trust the polls. They’re all fake.’ Well, let me tell you, there is bias in the polls; it is indeed biased to the left, but I can tell you – after running many campaigns and looking at many numbers – that this data is not false.

Polls show Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico leading in his race against GOP opponent Ken Paxton, who has been backed by Trump despite a litany of past scandals, and Democratic gubernatorial challenger Gina Hinojosa trailing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott closely.

“Democrats are overwhelmingly eliminating Republicans,” Cruz said. “We have to solve this problem.”

Cruz warned his fellow Republicans that this was the “most important midterm election” of their lives.

Cruz, who added that this was “the most important midterm, I think, of our lifetimes,” was not the only MAGA supporter to make a last-ditch effort in support of Trump’s GOP. So did Elon Musk, who led the so-called Department of Government Effectiveness under Trump.

The tech billionaire, whose companies receive billions in federal contracts, was accused of using DOGE to gut regulatory agencies investigating his companies – and warned that a Democratic sweep would herald the “end” of American democracy.

Cruz has frequently expressed support for Trump, his former rival in the 2016 presidential election, and strongly supports the war in Iran. The Republican, who visited Cancun in 2021 during a deadly Texas winter, even publicly praised Trump’s “balls.”

Trump himself recently took a different approach in complimenting his fellow Republican, telling reporters and protesters that Cruz would be an ideal candidate for the Supreme Court — because Democrats and Republicans “can’t stand him” as a senator.
