The president’s behavior indicates his “Ice Maiden” is next on the chopping block, his biographer says.
President Donald Trump’s discussions with allies about White House chief of staff Susie Wiles indicate his “Ice Maiden” is on the sidelines, his longtime biographer says.
Author Michael Wolff explained on the In Trump’s head podcast that Trump’s behavior, as Politico’s Playbook newsletter reported Thursday morning, suggests he is setting the stage for his impending departure.
The outlet reported that the 80-year-old president surveyed friends and allies about their thoughts on his 69-year-old aide, weighing suggestions for possible replacements.
Trump asked his allies about possible replacements for Susie Wiles.
Among Wiles’ potential replacements proposed by Trump were his deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, New York Yankees president Randy Levine, his special envoy Steve Witkoff and former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, according to Politico.
Trump denied this information in a statement to the Daily Beast.

Trump reportedly touted Miller as a possible successor to Wiles.

“TOTAL FAKE NEWS Politico doesn’t care about facts, integrity or honest journalism – that’s why I kicked them out of the White House!” he said in the press release. “Susie Wiles is my loyal and longest-serving chief of staff – there’s a reason for that. She has been with me since the beginning, is my trusted advisor and has my complete confidence.”

Host Joanna Coles noted how Wolff predicted Wiles “won’t last past November” and asked if he had heard about how she was doing.

“It doesn’t matter how she is,” Wolff replied. “It’s about… what Trump’s current impression is, what’s in his head about Susie Wiles.”
The president’s biographer said he was the first person to “paint the picture” that Trump is asking his friends about others in his employ before giving them the axe.
Wiles doesn’t have the “Mar-a-Lago face” sported by her younger contemporaries, Natalie Harp and Katie Zacharia.
“In fact, he even did that to me,” Wolff said, explaining that Trump once asked him about his thoughts on the president’s former chief strategist, Steve Bannon, before firing him during his first term.
He continued: “Everyone knows that…asking around is the kiss of death. It means you have to say, ‘Well, you know, I think there’s some problems there, Mr. President.’ And then he’ll tell you… “Yeah, I totally agree. » Then he will continue.
Wolff said the other impact of this behavior by Trump is that it “starts to weaken people.”
“It’s spread from person to person,” he said. “I’m sure he’s asking about Katie Zacharia now, but he’s apparently asking about Susie Wiles.”
Wiles served as a top advisor to the president throughout his second administration.

“So, does this mean the end of Susie Wiles?” he continued. “I expect that… that means that. That after the midterms, she will make a toast. Susie will make a toast.”
“He’s apparently asking about this person or that person, but that really doesn’t mean he’s asking about that person. What he did, what he’s doing, sends a signal that Susie Wiles is missing,” he concluded. “He’s poisoning Susie Wiles’ pitch.”
Reached for comment, a White House spokesperson told The Daily Beast in a frequently reused statement: “Michael Wolff is a professional scumbag and serial liar whose brain has been completely warped by his serious and incurable illness known as Trump Derangement Syndrome. »
