The Cook Political Report on Tuesday shifted its rankings of three Senate elections to the left, increasing the chances that Democrats would take Republican control of the chamber in November.
Cook moved Kansas from “Lean Republican” to “Toss Up,” New Hampshire from “Toss Up” to “Lean Democrat,” and North Carolina from “Lean Democrat” to “Probably Democratic.” These changes help increase the number of possible seats for Democrats from two seats to six, according to Cook, a nonpartisan election handicapper.
