Last Friday was a very strange day for Tony Romo.
It all started when CBS and Romo announced he had parted ways with the network where he had been the NFL’s top game analyst. It ended with Romo being disqualified from a golf tournament for submitting an incorrect scorecard.
Via Chris Cwik of Yahoo Sports, the disqualification occurred during the final round from a Korn Ferry pre-qualifier, as Romo attempted to qualify for the Korn Ferry tour.
Romo checked in for a four on the 16th hole and a four on the 17th hole. It turned out that Romo had a five and a five.
Romo took responsibility for the mistake, which may have resulted from Romo’s line being placed on a clock due to slow play.
Even with an incorrect score, it wouldn’t have been enough to get Romo on the Korn Ferry tour.
Romo’s future in broadcasting is murky, to say the least. Until he makes his next move, he will likely work on further perfecting his golf game.
