For Travis Barker, love is the best medicine.
The Grammy-nominated rocker and Blink-182 drummer gave his fans an update on his health on social media on Tuesday, October 6, with Barker sharing new photos from an apparent hospitalization.
In one photo, the 50-year-old musician could be seen lying in what appeared to be a hospital bed, while his daughter Alabama Barker posed in a chair nearby. Travis Barker was dressed in a hospital gown and light blue surgical cap. “My little girl came with me,” he wrote on his Instagram stories.
Barker’s wife, media personality and reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian, was also by his side. Another photo showed Kardashian wrapping her arm around Barker’s neck and leaning in for a kiss.
USA TODAY has reached out to Barker’s representatives for comment.
Barker’s post comes days after the rock musician was spotted attending ComplexCon 2026 in Los Angeles.
In a video shared at the event, Barker could be seen joining in on a drum performance, delivering a lively improvisation as he made his way through the crowd.
Why is Travis Barker in the hospital?
Barker underwent cubital tunnel release surgery on Oct. 6 after his arm, hand and fingers became numb following a show in September, he wrote in an Oct. 7 update shared on his Instagram Story. He explained that a nerve test performed on October 5 confirmed he needed the procedure to repair the nerve.
“I wanted to get ahead of myself and get this over with so I can continue playing the way I play for a long, long time,” he wrote, while sharing a photo of Kardashian alongside him. “It should be good in a few weeks.”
He joked: “I don’t know why my wife looks so happy about this.”
Travis Barker’s hospitalization comes after health issues including battle with PTSD
Barker has previously spoken openly about his health struggles.
The drummer of Blink-182 was involved in a 2008 plane crash that killed most of the passengers on board. While leaving a show in South Carolina, Barker’s plane overran the runway and burst into flames, killing the pilots, his assistant and his security guard. Barker and fellow musician Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein managed to escape the accident.
Barker, however, did not escape the accident unscathed. His body was badly burned and he said he was told he would never race again and that there was a chance he wouldn’t be able to play the drums either.
In a 2021 interview with Men’s Health, Barker said the accident motivated him to stop using drugs.
“People always say to me, ‘Have you been to rehab?’ And I (say), “No, I had a plane crash. “It was my rehabilitation,” Barker said. “Losing three of your friends and almost dying? That was my wake-up call.”
Last December, Barker revealed on social media that he injured his leg while training for a marathon. The musician, who said he had injured his shin, was forced to use crutches as part of his recovery.
