With the midterm elections just over a week away and polls indicating the growing likelihood of big Republican losses in Congress, President Donald Trump has hit the campaign trail to deliver a new message sure to assuage concerns about a war abroad and a brutal economy at home: Get Nicki Minaj’s butt.
Minaj appeared alongside Trump at a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, apparently to drum up support for Republican Senate and gubernatorial candidates Mike Rogers and John James, respectively. But at one point in his speech, Trump brought up a topic that’s been on his mind a lot lately: the human posterior. Because apparently, a bit like Al Pacino in HeatWhen the President of the United States starts thinking about donkeys, something comes out of him.
Oddly enough, Trump wandered in his comments about Minaj when recounting the recent glowing review he gave to Ohio Senate candidate Jon Husted. At the Michigan rally, Trump insisted he made the comment “for fun,” joking: “I’ve never done that with a man before. That’s true. Unofficially, women: yes. Men, no, okay?”
Then, to make sure the crowd really knew where he was going, Trump said, “By the way, I’ve already looked at one damn fine ass: Nicki Minaj! It’s hard to miss!”
As for Minaj, she was one of the final speakers at the Port Huron rally. She said a few words of support to Rogers and James, and even led two absolutely uplifting chants: “When I say ‘Mike,’ you say ‘Rogers,'” and “When I say ‘John,’ you say ‘James.’ But, of course, most of his praise was aimed at the man who wasn’t on the ballot in Michigan. Minaj, who has become MAGA’s favorite celebrity since Kid Rock, told Trump “it’s an honor to stand with you” and “if you run again, I will support you again.”
Along with her appearance at the Port Huron rally, Minaj will also be the lucky recipient of a tour of Air Force One courtesy of Steven Cheung, the White House communications director. Looking to make headlines about this celebrity appearance, Cheung even joked on social media that Minaj could be the next White House press secretary, which is obviously not the case, but you wouldn’t be surprised either.
