Trump rallies for Mike Rogers – and Nicki Minaj’s behind – in Michigan | American news

Donald Trump reiterated his apparent love of ample buttocks at a rally Sunday in Michigan, where he encouraged the crowd to compliment rapper Nicki Minaj’s butt.

Trump’s cheeky comments about Minaj’s rear came as he explained his recent observation about Ohio Republican Sen. Jon Husted’s rear. Earlier in October, Trump said of the former college football player: “I don’t do that very often with men. I started looking at his body, because I didn’t know he was a great athlete. And I looked and I looked up and down. I looked at his butt and I looked at the whole thing – and then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got like claws.

“You are a great athlete,” Trump also told Husted. “Congratulations.”

Trump was speaking at the rally in support of Mike Rogers, the Republican Senate candidate in Michigan. The Michigan race between Rogers and Democrat Abdul El-Sayed remains neck-and-neck as the two political parties battle for control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections. But he couldn’t resist his supposedly other favorite subject.

This afternoon, Trump declared the media buzz surrounding his comments to be “fake news,” neglecting the sporting context of his statements. Trump said he had just learned Husted was a college athlete when he was “looking him up and down and I was studying him.”

Trump insisted his next crack was “for fun.” “I said, I looked at his ass, and I’ve never done that with a man before. It’s true. Unofficially, women yes, men no, OK.”

Trump then shouted out Minaj, who the New York Post reported was wearing “head-to-toe Gucci” today. Minaj, the newspaper also reported, was seen walking with Trump after leaving Air Force One.

“By the way, I once looked at a damn fine ass – Nicki Minaj,” Trump said, drawing cheers of celebration from the crowd. “It’s hard to miss. It’s – get up! It’s hard to miss.”

“OK, I’ll get back to my story, Nicki,” Trump continued after even more cheers. “I hope Nicki wasn’t insulted, but we love Nicki. She’s been with us for a long time.”

Trump made statements about Husted’s butt a little over a week ago in Kentucky.

“I looked at his butt,” Trump said of Husted, who was not at the event. “And then I looked at his shoulders. I looked at his feet. I looked at his hand. I looked at his jaw. I studied him. He has a jaw.

“I then tapped him on the shoulder, and it was like a piece of steel. I’m still recovering,” Trump said.

Trump also recently welcomed the appearance of Ed Gallrein, the Republican congressional candidate in Kentucky.

“I needed someone good, and this guy walked through the door,” Trump remarked of Gallrein, describing his efforts to find a replacement for anti-Maga outgoing President Thomas Massie. “I said, look at this handsome guy.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on why Trump was discussing other people’s bodies.

Trump’s comments come amid criticism of his style of speaking, which some have compared to grotesque.

At a rally Saturday for El-Sayed, Barack Obama joked about Trump’s efforts to renovate the White House.

“He makes the White House look like Saddam Hussein opened a cheesecake factory,” the former president said.

Meanwhile, Trump said the US-Canada trade war would soon be behind America’s eyes.

“Canada has been ripping off the United States for years. I had to do it,” Trump said of the tariffs at the rally. “We’ll have this sorted very soon. They’re willing to give us anything right now.”
