Two people airlifted to hospital after bus collides with stopped train on French side of Channel Tunnel

The incident appears to be confined to a single platformpublished at 10:23 p.m. BST

At the time of the incident, I was passing through the tunnel linking Folkestone to Calais.

I received an alert from Eurotunnel while we were on the train saying: “Service disruption due to an ongoing incident”. We were directed to the train as usual and taken the normal route.

I walked past and there were very bright blue lights focused on one of the platforms – probably a cargo platform – in this huge terminal.

As I understand it, this is how the service for truck drivers works: trucks are parked on these large open vehicles and drivers are taken by minibus to a safer enclosed car for the ride.

It appears that it was one of these minibuses which collided with a goods vehicle on a platform.

I’m currently just outside the terminal, where I see fewer blue lights inside the terminal than before. I also see a lot of blue light vehicles leaving.

Everything seems to have been contained on one platform.

There were a lot of cars waiting in line at check-in when I passed by just now, and I saw cars passing check-in, so despite the collision, they were not held up.
