A University of Colorado student was killed and another is in critical condition after they were shot at a Halloween party at a Boulder home Saturday night.
Boulder police said the shooting happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 700 block of Marine Street in Boulder’s University Hill neighborhood.
The victims of the shooting have not been identified, but police said they were both 19-year-old men who attended the university.
Police have not identified or arrested any suspects.
According to a press release from the ministry, a large Halloween party was held at the house on Saturday evening. Officers had responded to a noise complaint earlier in the night and cited people who live in the home.
After that, the party broke up and most of those present left the area. Police said only a small group remained in the house.
Later, police believe a group of people tried to force their way into the home and then shots were fired inside, the release said.
Detectives interviewed about 20 witnesses and said they are asking anyone who attended the party or has information to contact Boulder police at 303-441-3333 and reference case 26-10148. Photos and videos can also be submitted to Boulder Police online here.
