Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff met today in Oslo in what was described as “a critical time for Ukraine” by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

Støre said Zelensky had asked Norway and Finland to organize talks between European allies and the United States after relations between kyiv and Washington began to deteriorate in recent weeks.

Trump said earlier this month that it was time for Ukraine to get a new president, following Zelensky’s criticism of the U.S. diesel deal with Russia.

Separately, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio today rejected “outrageous” accusations that Ukrainians are dying because the US is refusing to provide intelligence to kyiv.

Støre said the goal of the Oslo talks was to move relations toward “a more constructive path,” while Zelensky said earlier he had a “constructive discussion” with Rubio about the need for U.S. early warning systems, missile interceptors and SpaceX’s Starlink network.

We expect to hear from President Zelensky, Prime Minister Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb later, so stay with us as we bring you the key updates.
