Wendy’s has gone full Wendy’s, releasing a 15-hour RPG based on the fast food chain’s branding.
We were caught off guard by trailers showing some truly compelling turn-based gameplay, but the full launch of WendyQuest brought yet another surprise: real rewards for beating bosses.
Each time you defeat a Mech Boss, the game will reward you with a “Corner Stone”, accompanied by a unique code. Enter the code in the “Offers” tab of the Wendy’s app and you’ll have a chance to win one of the following food rewards:
WendyQuest Food Rewards
- FREE Medium Fries with Purchase
- Small Classic Frosty FREE with purchase
- 10 PC Nuggs FREE with purchase
- FREE Cookie or Croissant with purchase
- Dave’s Single FREE with purchase
There are five Mech Bosses in the game, giving you a total of five chances to earn one of the rewards. Unfortunately, repeated encounters don’t seem to generate additional codes.
Rewards aren’t completely free: to use them, you’ll need to make a “separate qualifying purchase.” Classic, I know. Eligibility for rewards is limited to U.S. residents ages 18 and older, and players have seven days after redeeming an in-app code to complete an order before it expires.
Actual rewards will last “while supplies last,” indicating the promotion may be time-limited. It would be kind of crazy if it was a permanent part of the Wendy’s brand, but you never know. The company just released its third-quarter financial results, reporting a 7.6% decline in U.S. systemwide sales and a 5.3% decline in same-restaurant sales, and has been pulling out all the stops to try to catch up.
WendyQuest: Legend of the Four Corner Stones launched as a free-to-play game on Steam, Android, and iOS devices on November 4, reaching a peak player count of just under 400 on Steam. Launching at the same time as the Ocarina of Time remake was an interesting choice to say the least, and makes WendyQuest one of the few games released during the month of GTA 6.
I can’t believe you made a retro RPG called WendyQuest that you can download now. Oh wait, that was us.

The full RPG includes approximately 15 hours of content, equivalent to recent AAA releases like Marvel’s Wolverine. You control the red-haired Wendy, recruiting allies to stop the evil Mech Corp and save the country of Savoria.
The Mech Corp empire, under the control of Dr. MechBorg, operates with a capital “M” logo and aims to cut corners to make billions, likely a direct hit against a classic Wendy’s competitor, McDonald’s. The game’s abilities and items are all based on classic Wendy’s foods, with unique damage types like “Crispy”, “Frosty” and “Fresh Beef”.
WendyQuest was developed in collaboration with 81monkeys, a company based in Canada, based on the 2D style of turn-based JRPG classics like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. As more and more games are released with comprehensive information on the use of AI, the WendyQuest Steam listing proudly proclaims the game as “100% fresh and 100% human-made.”
Will a strong role-playing experience make people eat more Wendy’s? We’ll have to see.
