TRUMP’S SCARIEST ENFORCER
Michael Wolff explains how President Donald Trump called for his longtime enforcer to be expelled.
President Donald Trump’s explosive shakeup at the highest levels of the administration is one of his most dangerous moves yet, his longtime biographer said.
Author Michael Wolff said Trump’s decision to replace Susie Wiles with Stephen Miller as White House chief of staff is a further demonstration of the value he places above all on loyalty.
Trump, 80, abruptly announced Friday that his longtime enforcer was out and that Miller, his deputy and the architect of the administration’s hard line on immigration, was in. The move came just weeks after Trump repeatedly insisted there was “zero chance” he would replace Wiles, following reports from Politico that their relationship was in shambles.
Wolff pulled back the curtain on the president’s decision regarding In Trump’s head.
“Thursday… he’s yelling at Susie Wiles. Again, in front of people, he’s yelling at her. When Trump yells at you, I mean, it’s terrible,” he told co-host Joanna Coles.

āSo Susie Wiles, at that point, left,ā he continued. “She ran out the door. She left and immediately revealed she was out.”
An administration official told The Daily Beast that Wiles resigned Thursday evening.
Maggie Haberman, a New York Times White House correspondent, revealed that she and colleagues Tyler Pager and Jonathan Swan contacted the administration to seek comment on a story about Trump’s plan to replace Wiles with Miller.
āShortly before the deadline we set, the president released the news,ā she wrote on X.
President Donald Trump’s “Ice Maiden” is leaving the White House.
Wolff said Trump was forced to decide quickly on a replacement.
āHe then had to appoint someone so it wouldnāt look like she was resigning,ā he said. “That’s how Stephen Miller comes in because – and this is two things about Trump – because Stephen Miller is available and a sycophant, and was perhaps the only person willing to take this job in a heartbeat.”
āAnd then it comes back to Trump’s other instincts, which is, again, yes, to double down and appoint the person who is the most abject in his loyalty, the most clearly willing to do what Trump wants to do, and that would be Stephen Miller,ā he added. āSo here we are.ā
Stephen Miller, his deputy, takes over as White House chief of staff.
Trump had previously called any reports suggesting he planned to fire Wiles āfake news.ā
“She’s been incredible. We’ve had perhaps the most successful first two years, and it’s not even been two years, in the history of the presidency. She’s been my chief of staff. She’s smart, she’s tough,” Trump told reporters. āSusieās here, and sheās going to be here for a long time.ā
But that changed after Trump’s crushing midterm defeat. Sources told CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins that the president’s anger grew last week over media coverage of Republicans’ massive losses.
āItās hard to overstate how fractured this environment has become in just the last few days,ā Collins said Friday evening. The source. āAffiliates I spoke with described a workplace filled with tension and internal conflict, comparing it to the tussle days of the president’s first term.ā
āToday, many believe that the departure of Susie Wiles will only accelerate the change in the balance of power underway in the president’s entourage.ā
