Woman and minor both hit by vehicle in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, California. —

A woman was killed and a child injured after being struck by a vehicle Sunday, according to Sacramento police.

The Sacramento Police Department said officers responded to the 500 block of Las Palmas Avenue around 3:15 p.m. The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and the child with minor injuries.

The woman was pronounced dead despite life-saving measures, police said.

The child is approximately four years old, authorities said.

Police said the driver involved in the crash was still at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
