You can see it all… including Nathan Fielder “falling in love” with Elizabeth Holmes?

The hit documentary “You Can See Everything” is hailed as a triumph of cinema.

Its filmmakers are already tipped for Oscar glory after seeking to discover whether Elizabeth Holmes had created yet another character for the cameras, one far more demure and fragile than the infamous deep-voiced, turtleneck-wearing character for which she is most famous.

But another question looms over the latest close-up of the disgraced Theranos founder: Did she also succeed in convincing the person telling her story?

Sources close to the production tell Page Six that director Nathan Fielder seemed to develop more than a passing liking for Holmes during filming — a dynamic they say might help explain why his longtime partner, Billy Evans, emerges in a less-than-flattering light.

“I think Nathan fell in love with Lizzie,” said a well-placed film source, “I think he totally fell in love with her.”

“Nathan knows how he feels about Elizabeth. It remains to be seen whether he shares his feelings publicly,” added another source close to the production.

The disgraced Theranos founder got engaged to Billy Evans in 2018. The couple share two children — and want more kids.

Indeed, in one of the final intimate moments of the film, we see Fielder swimming in the ocean with Holmes, who pulls him into the water.

The documentary was filmed shortly before Holmes began her 11-year prison sentence for fraud linked to blood testing company Theranos, the “groundbreaking” company she founded that raised a $9 billion valuation, before being exposed as a scam.

Fielder, 43, was recently linked to bestselling author Emma Cline, whom he accompanied to Cultured magazine’s Cult100 gala at the Guggenheim Museum in April. This week, however, gossip site DeuxMoi claimed the couple had split.

Fielder did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Fielder and his co-manager, Lance Oppenheim, moved into the small rental house in Del Mar, California, that Holmes, 42, and Evans, 34, shared with their two young children, William, now 5, and Invicta, now 3, for 34 days until Holmes surrendered in prison in May 2023.

As Holmes prepared to begin her 11-year prison sentence, Page Six can reveal she was undergoing IVF treatment.

“The goal was to be able to have another child while she was away,” a source in the know said.

Yet despite being the one who brought Fielder on board, we’re told Evans has mixed feelings about the film. He told friends he disagreed with a highly publicized full-frontal nude scene, which made him feel “raped”.

There are also times when he is seen as controlling; snatching a bowl from Holmes as she inexpertly tries to whisk eggs.

The couple did not receive approval for the amendment. Before the film’s release, Evans, who refers to Holmes as his “wife” although the couple is not legally married, told the All-In Podcast, “I haven’t seen it. I might think it’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.”

“When filming started, Elizabeth and Billy had just welcomed their daughter, their son was not yet two years old and Elizabeth was preparing to begin (her) prison sentence,” explained a source close to the production. “And on top of that, they had invited the crew to move in with them.”

“I wanted our kids to be more like him than me, that’s when I knew,” Evans told the podcast about starting a family with Holmes. “Wills is so much like his mother. He has a huge heart and he’s not afraid to show it.”

Evans also defended his decision to support Holmes, saying he wanted people to see the person he knew rather than the disgraced businesswoman portrayed in the headlines.

“I’ve had this constant experience with the people who love me the most, from my grandmother to my best friends,” he said. “They would hear that I knew (Elizabeth Holmes) or that I fell in love with this person and now we’re having a child…at first, every one of these people thought I was crazy.”

He remembers saying to them, “‘Do you know who she is?’ I would ask them, “I understand why you feel this way, but just meet her.” “And they would meet her, spend time with her, and see her in a completely natural environment, like going on a hike or helping a friend. Every opinion about him would change drastically.

In January 2022, a federal jury found Holmes guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and three counts of wire fraud involving more than $140 million in investor funds. She was acquitted of charges related to patient fraud.

Holmes and her former boyfriend and Theranos COO, Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, falsely claimed that the company’s proprietary “Edison” machine could perform hundreds of comprehensive medical tests using just a few drops of blood from a finger prick. In reality, the technology did not work as advertised and the company secretly relied on conventional commercial blood analyzers.

Holmes was hailed by industry after claiming to have created a machine that would shake up the healthcare industry. She was seen at the Fortune Global Forum in San Francisco, California in November 2015. P.A.

Holmes’ sentence was later reduced to approximately 10 years and three months. She and Balwani were also ordered to jointly pay $452 million in restitution to the victims.

Reports indicate that Holmes is expected to be moved to a halfway house next August, with her full release scheduled for February 2030. Her loved ones are hoping she could actually be released to home even earlier next year.

“They knew they had no control over how any particular moment would end up playing out on the film,” Holmes and Evans’ production source said. “And there were definitely moments of tension and moments where they were uncomfortable. But that’s also real life.”

Fielder has spoken openly about his strained relationship with Evans. After a screening earlier this month, he claimed that Evans, the scion of a wealthy hotel group, “began trying to exert a level of control over the process that made it very difficult to engage with him, and it was uncomfortable for us and (production company) A24.”

“We kind of had to stop,” he added. “Communication was basically broken down, and we’ve been in that state for a little while. So it’s been a challenge in that way.”

Fielder, Oppenheim and their team then followed Evans and the children as they approached Bryan Federal Detention Camp, the minimum-security women’s prison in Texas where Holmes is currently serving her sentence.

What makes the film even more complicated is the extent to which Fielder and Oppenheim became involved with Holmes’ family.

“It was a three-plus year process and quite an absorbing experience, so you inevitably develop a bond. The crew would play guitar for the kids, help babysit and celebrate birthdays together. It wasn’t just about showing up, getting the footage and going home,” the production source said.

The resulting meta-documentary became a critical and financial success, grossing over $45 million at the box office.

But while the film invites viewers to scrutinize the couple’s every move, questions arise about how much of what they are watching actually happened – and how much of it is the filmmakers’ interpretation.

Some of the most important conversations in the documentary were never filmed. Instead, actors step in to recreate them – leaving viewers to judge not the original exchanges, but a version recreated by the filmmakers.

Take the money meeting, for example.

In a re-enactment, Evans, played by Christopher Abbott, discusses the prospect of profit sharing with executives at Fielder, Oppenheim and A24 after Holmes leaves the room to watch the children.

The timing of the conversation – and Holmes’ absence – become grounds for suspicion. Was Evans trying to cash in without his knowledge? Was he controlling her, or was she understanding more than she let on?

But the public doesn’t watch the original meeting. They look at a later reconstruction. Who said what, when and how they said it all help determine whether the scene resembles a business negotiation or a shakedown.

An industry insider told Page Six that the footage was very unusual.
