James Cameron congratulates the box office success of Avengers: Endgame with a crazy image

Marvel Studios release of Avengers: End of game: Bis was a shrewd bet for several reasons: it put the studio’s most successful film back in the conversation right after the colossal success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day; it helped out the diehards with new images before December Avengers: Judgment Day; and, perhaps more importantly, it raked in an additional $138 million for the film, restore its position as world box office champion on that of James Cameron Avatar. Cameron, who certainly doesn’t spend his precious time worrying about matters like making a living and being the best in the world at it, recently praised Marvel for once again surpassing his 2009 sci-fi film.

“You are one of the people,” the director wrote (by The wrap) in a composite image of Avatarwith Iron Man at the center of a welcoming Na’vi tribe. “Congratulations to Marvel and #1 Avengers: Endgame: Encore to bring moviegoers to the cinema! –Jim Cameron.

Cameron and Marvel have danced this box office dance before. End of game first passed Avatar when it was first released theatrically, only for Cameron to re-release a 4K remaster of Avatar in 2021 before the release of its sequel, Avatar: THE Path Of Waterwhich puts Avatar ahead of the superhero film until its Bis presentation. There’s now a paltry $14.7 million box office gap between the films, which, you know, Cameron could surpass with an even newer version of Avatar one day, if the desire takes it.
