Alexander Volkanovski, Movsar Evloev, Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili are expected to shine at UFC 333.
All four championship fight competitors managed to make weight for Saturday’s card in Abu Dhabi, with Volkanovski weighing in at 144.5 pounds for his featherweight title defense in the main event against undefeated Movsar Evloev (145), and Yan and Dvalishvili both weighing in at 135 pounds for their co-main event trilogy bout with Yan’s bantamweight title on the line.
Unfortunately for the card, it wasn’t all good news, as preliminary strawweight contender Nicolle Caliari came in well over the 115-pound limit, even with a one-pound allowance for a non-title fight. Caliari officially entered at 120.5 pounds, 4.5 pounds in weight, and as a result, her fight with Iasmin Lucindo (115) will take place at catchweight, with Caliari losing 30 percent of her purse as a penalty for this huge miss.
The rest of the weigh-ins went smoothly as the other 27 fighters who stepped on the scales Friday morning local time all managed to make weight.
