Prince William made a surprise appearance on Graham Norton’s couch, where he admitted he’s a “big fan” of director Christopher Nolan and game show “The Traitors.”
The episode, which was recorded on Thursday and will air on Friday in the UK, sees His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales (to give him his full title) adorning the famous red sofa alongside Cate Blanchett, Hannah Waddingham and conservationist Robert Irwin.
All of Norton’s guests this week are competing in the Earthshot Prize, which William is spearheading.
Jorja Smith also appeared on the show, performing live before joining the other guests on the sofa.
During his appearance, the British royal told Norton that he had stopped with “music and cinema.”
“I love immersing myself in deep films,” William told the talk show host. “I also like action movies, but I like something a little different. I’m a huge fan of everything Christopher Nolan does. His films are fantastic – ‘The Dark Knight’ series is psychologically dark and deep and I love that. He takes completely new concepts and makes them incredibly entertaining.”
William also revealed that he watches “The Traitors” with his two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. “I love it, the family loves it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It’s really good TV,” he said. “I saw (‘Celebrity Traitors’ contestant) Ross Kemp the day after the premiere and I couldn’t help but try – in the most appropriate way – to touch him to see what reaction I got from him. Turns out he was really nervous!”
Asked if he ever dreamed of having another job, William replied: “I wanted to be a police officer when I was younger, I thought I could make a good one. And then I went through a phase where I wanted to be a DJ – I wasn’t very good.”
In addition to sharing insight into the Earthshot Prize and his family life, William helped act as a judge for audience members who took the stage to tell their funniest stories.
