Kate Gosselin says her children know who she “really” is amid abuse allegations made by her son Collin.

The 51-year-old former reality TV star took to TikTok on Thursday to celebrate her boyfriend Steve Neild’s birthday and got support from fans in the comments section.

“Happy birthday Steve! Strength isn’t just about enduring, it’s about loving deeply enough to do what’s right even if it costs you,” one TikTok user wrote in the comments section. “Look at the good life and happily ever after, you have now discovered that you have made sacrifices that no mother should have had to make alone.”

They continued, “When people attack you, it may sting for a moment, but it can never shake who you are. It only confirms that you stood your ground and remained faithful through it all. God is guiding you both.”

Kate responded to the comment by thanking the fan, telling them: “I needed that encouragement and you’re right,” before adding: “I know who I am and my kids know who I really am and to me that’s all that matters.”

The exchange took place shortly after Collin claimed on “The View” that his sister Hannah felt obligated to say they hadn’t spoken in a year as a form of “damage control” for appearing in an upcoming Netflix documentary alongside Collin and their father.

In a statement, Hannah wrote that she had a relationship with her mother and other siblings, but that she had not “lived with my father for over a year” and had not “spoken to Collin in almost a year.” She added that she would no longer make any statements about “Collin’s behavior growing up” or her experiences with him as a child.

“All families are very complicated, and that statement sounds a lot like my mother’s words, especially the last part. What I believe is that Hannah is caught in the middle — and no one deserves that,” Collin said on “The View.” “I know what it feels like to have to fight to have a relationship with your siblings. I don’t have one with my siblings, and I know how much that hurts. Not only is she caught in the middle, but I believe my mother is either exploiting the finances or Hannah’s relationship with our siblings over Hannah.”

He added that “Hannah exposed a lot of truths” in the documentary and that she’s “trying to do damage control before the damage…because my mother placed this guilt on her,” and that’s not fair to Hannah.

Collin recently opened up about the alleged abuse he suffered while living with his mother in his memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight.”

In his memoir, he accuses his mother of restraining him with restraints, hitting him when he failed to perform in front of the cameras and isolating him in the family basement.

He first spoke out against his mother in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2022, when he claimed that his mother sent him to live at the Fairmount Behavioral Health System – a psychiatric hospital located in Philadelphia – without telling any family members when he was 12 years old. She said she was diagnosed with a behavioral disorder and couldn’t meet his needs.

Collin left the facility and moved in with his father, Jon, in December 2018, after Jon was awarded custody. His sister Hannah was also living with their father at the time.

“I would like an apology, period, an apology and for her to admit it and take responsibility for what she did,” Collin told Fox News Digital earlier this month about her mother.

“And to say, you know, ‘I’m sorry for sullying your name and I’ve gone to every effort to bury you, to protect my reputation,’ I think that would be very honest and very powerful for her to say that… just show some responsibility because everything she’s done to protect her reputation, it’s all been at my expense.”

Kate has previously denied the abuse allegations made by Collin.
