In Maelstroma federal marshal charged with protecting an arms dealer’s fiancee-turned-witness must defend her during a brutal night as a hurricane cuts communication, strands them without reinforcements, and frees the dealer’s men in their hideout.
The current version of the screenplay is by Mark Bianculli; the first draft was written by the late Gregory Fitzpatrick. This is one of those projects that has been making its way through the system for many years, having first been put together as a spec at Warner Bros. in 1993.
Jeff Robinov will produce alongside Tabitha Shick of Talking Pictures.
With the release of the fourth opus of his John Wick franchise, Reeves has been aggressively expanding his roster as of late. Most recently, he began negotiations to direct James Wan’s action against the South Korean criminal actor. The gangster, the cop, the devil for Paramount, where he is also expected to reprise his role as the voice of Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 4. As we first reported, Reeves recently set about an adaptation of Oliver Lowe’s upcoming novel. Kill Current: a thriller by Jon Hendricks as another star vehicle. This film will mark the first project produced under its new Two Dragonflies banner. Its partners are The Arena and Zando.
Other upcoming projects for Reeves include the Warner Bros. sci-fi film. Thrill And The entertainment system is brokenby Ruben Östlund, multiple winner of the Palme d’Or. Page Six Hollywood announced his Maelstrom foundry.
