Trump calls for DOJ investigation into Democrats’ calls for surveillance

President Donald Trump said Saturday that he had ordered the Justice Department to investigate “threats” made by Democrats against Republicans following the Republican Party’s midterm election defeat, adding that those responsible should be imprisoned.

Through two Truth Social publications, Asset accused Democrats of threatening Republican donors with imprisonment and attorney general Todd Blanche and other administration officials indicted. He also said Democrats were targeting people “simply because they were Republicans or supporters of Republicans.”

“Jail should be for these EXTORTIONISTS, and Republicans should act quickly and smart! Threatening letters have been sent to many people, all innocent, from Democratic political leaders,” the president wrote on Truth Social. “By copy of this declaration, I order the Ministry of Justice to immediately investigate this criminal act!”

In a next message, Asset called on Republicans to report “threats” to him personally and to the DOJ.
