LOS FELIZ, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A massive sinkhole opened Wednesday morning on a residential street in Los Feliz, nearly swallowing a pickup truck, as water from a broken water main flooded the area.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Franklin and Normandie avenues. It was unclear if anyone was inside the van when it began to sink.

AIR7’s video showed a Spectrum cable company van half-submerged in the street as it was flooded with water.

Spectrum said in a statement that the employee was doing well.

“Our technician was working in the area when the sinkhole opened this morning. The technician is OK,” the company said.

The cause of the water main break was unknown.
