Brandon Aiyuk will no longer play for the 49ers, but his future is in question.
The wide receiver arrived at the team offices in a van with his agent Friday afternoon to meet with the 49ers and likely negotiate a solution.
“Obviously, Brandon is here to meet with the team,” Drew Rosenhaus, Aiyuk’s agent, said before the meeting, via video from David Lombardi of the San Francisco Standard. “Fortunately, he feels good physically. He is in good health. He is ready to return to work. I don’t really have a comment on where he’s going to play. We’ll keep this between us and the Niners. But obviously we are here with good intentions.
Aiyuk last played a game on October 20, 2024, when he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee. The relationship between the team and player collapsed after that and the 49ers voided the guaranteed money due to his refusal to rehabilitate at their facility.
The 49ers placed him on the reserve/left team roster on December 13, 2025. Rosenhaus filed for reinstatement on October 27, but the NFL has still not been reinstated him.
“Nice to see you all,” Aiyuk said. “I feel good, healthy. It’s been a long recovery process, a long rehab process. But I’m back to 100 percent and I’m looking to get back into the National Football League.”
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier in the day that he “(don’t) care” about how the meeting has gone since then.it’s over for our football team for a long time.
