Fortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, CeeDee Lamb’s wild catch late Sunday afternoon didn’t cost them the game at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Cowboys beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-23 after a game-winning touchdown run by Javonte Williams in the final two minutes. But it was a sequence with Lamb earlier in the fourth quarter that could have cost them the game.
Lamb made an incredible catch in the fourth quarter and was able to complete the catch while barely staying in bounds, right against the sideline. But instead of finishing the play, Colts rookie cornerback Kenneth Harris didn’t actually touch Lamb.

So Lamb pounced and ended up with a 48-yard play, deep into Colts territory. But when Lamb was tackled, he lost the ball on the way down. This returned the ball directly to Indianapolis after a review.
It looked like it was going to cost Dallas the game as well. The Colts reached scoring position, thanks to three major penalties, including a 40-yard pass interference against DaRon Bland.
But inside the red zone, Quinnen Williams forced a huge fumble to give the ball back to Dallas and stop what could have been a touchdown.
Ultimately, it was Williams’ touchdown that pushed Dallas for good and gave them the four-point victory.

Dak Prescott went 21 of 34 for 335 yards with two touchdowns in the win, which pushed the Cowboys to 4-5 on the season. They are second in the NFC East race, behind the New York Giants. Lamb had 195 yards and a touchdown on 10 catches. He found the end zone in the second quarter on a 44-yard catch.
The Cowboys will face the San Francisco 49ers next week.
