Just two weeks after arriving in theaters, Laika’s latest stop-motion fantasy film, “Wildwood,” is already getting the collector’s edition treatment.

A limited edition 4K Ultra HD SteelBook of the animated adventure is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The two-disc version, distributed by Shout! Studios, includes both a 4K UHD disc and a Blu-ray.

“Wildwood” hit theaters Oct. 23, marking Laika’s first feature film in seven years, following 2019’s “Missing Link.” Directed by Travis Knight, the studio’s chairman and CEO, the fantasy is based on the 2011 novel by Colin Meloy, frontman of the indie rock band The Decemberists, with illustrations by his wife, Carson Ellis.

Set in Portland, Oregon, the film follows Prue McKeel (voiced by Peyton Elizabeth Lee), a young girl who ventures into a mysterious forest after her little brother is kidnapped by a flock of crows. Accompanied by her classmate Curtis (Jacob Tremblay), she discovers a hidden world populated by magical creatures, warring factions and dangerous adversaries.

The all-star cast also includes Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Angela Bassett, Awkwafina, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tom Waits and Richard E. Grant.

The film marks a major milestone for the Oregon-based animation studio, which has built a devoted following through its painstakingly hand-crafted feature films, including “Coraline,” “ParaNorman” and “Kubo and the Two Strings.” Laika described “Wildwood” as his most ambitious production to date, with 231 puppets and 136 locations created to bring Meloy’s fantasy world to life.

The limited edition “Wildwood” SteelBook is now available for pre-order on Amazon, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
