NFL Week 9 brings the first half of the season to a close, and as the campaign reaches this major milestone, the demands of a long year become all the more evident in teams’ injury reports.
Among the players ruled out before the game are two offensive stars from the NFC West. The San Francisco 49ers expected Mike Evans to return this side of the bye week after battling Achilles tendinitis before and during their last game, but his condition has not improved and he will miss Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Additionally, the Seattle Seahawks will be without left guard Quenton Nelson just one week after trading him. The perennial All-Pro lineman requires surgery to clean out the cartilage in his knee and could miss several games despite avoiding injured reserve.
Other stars set to watch Week 9 from the sidelines include New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith, Carolina Panthers edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, Houston Texans running back David Montgomery and New England Patriots wide receiver AJ Brown.
This week, however, marks the return of several renowned players after prolonged absences. The most notable of these is Myles Garrett, the edge player for the Los Angeles Rams. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year has recovered from knee surgery and will now play alongside Aaron Donald for the first time this season.
Below you’ll find inactives for all 26 teams in action on Sunday in Week 9, along with live updates on any notable injuries that occurred during the day’s games.
