Asked during an exchange with the press in the Oval Office about a possible role for Iran, Donald Trump replied “It’s possible”, adding that he did not want to give more details. “I could be very specific, but I prefer not to say anything.”

“A foreign actor is involved”
For their part, the British police said they were “exploring multiple avenues” in this case, including that of the involvement of a “foreign state”. Iran, for its part, “categorically” denied any involvement.
The head of American diplomacy Marco Rubio was more categorical. “This is clearly a case in which a foreign actor is involved,” Marco Rubio said on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News, declining to say more. “I am not going to go into detail about this yet. However, I would like to thank the British authorities, who have been very cooperative and have taken matters into their own hands.”
Five British men, aged between 23 and 25, were arrested on Sunday morning near a Royal Air Force base in Fairford, southwest England, used by the US military in its war against Iran. They are suspected of “violations of the law on explosives” as well as “preparation of a terrorist act”.
