Welcome to our live coverage of today’s massive showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers lead 21-13 at halftime after scoring three touchdowns on turnovers.
The 49ers’ final touchdown of the half came just before halftime when Gracen Halton scored after knocking the ball off George Holani’s arm in the Seattle end zone.
Each of the four touchdowns scored in the first half were triggered by turnovers. Both of San Francisco’s scoring drives began inside Seattle’s 20-yard line. The first score followed a Renardo Green interception, and the second score was set up by Fred Warner’s strip of Emanuel Wilson in the second quarter.
Brock Purdy turned the first turnover into a touchdown pass to Mike Evans early in the first quarter. Christian McCaffrey gave the 49ers their second lead of the half on a short touchdown run following Warner’s forced fumble.
Seattle’s only score came on a muffled punt by San Francisco’s special teams. The Seahawks put together two more goals that ended with Jason Myers field goals.
The 49ers will play the remainder of the game without Dre Greenlaw, who was expelled in the second quarter after headbutting Ernest Jones IV on the Seattle sidelines.
