  • Kenneth Card claimed he was served sirloin instead of the filet mignon he ordered three times at a Texas Roadhouse in Forsyth, Illinois.

  • Texas Roadhouse said Card’s complaint was “corrected” by its team and that it could not confirm several incidents.

  • Card, who says he worked in restaurants, sparked online debate after sharing a video detailing his experience.

A Texas Roadhouse customer claims the restaurant served him a steak for less than what he ordered.

On October 5, Kenneth Card shared a TikTok video, which now has more than 31,000 views, calling out the steakhouse chain and claiming he was served a cheaper steak than the one he ordered three times.

In his video, Card said he ordered an 8 oz. filet mignon in Forsyth, Illinois, from the steakhouse chain, before being served a sirloin steak instead.

“I said, ‘Excuse me, I think I got the wrong steak,'” Card recalled in the video, adding that the waiter went for a “second opinion” before coming back and confirming it was a sirloin steak.

Card said he told the server he had been going to the restaurant every week for a year and this was the third time the problem had occurred.

He said Fox News Digital the staff corrected the mistake the first time and he didn’t complain the second time.

Card said in his video that he told a manager this was the third time he had received a sirloin instead of the filet he ordered.

He claimed the manager looked at him like he was “stupid or crazy” and said it was “impossible” because the steak goes through a manager in the back.

Card said that when he brought up the current error, the manager was unable to respond.

“While we cannot confirm that this occurred on multiple occasions, when Mr. Card brought this to our attention, it was done correctly by our team,” a Texas Roadhouse spokesperson said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.

“We have processes in place to check the quality and accuracy of food before it leaves the kitchen,” they added. “If a customer receives the wrong item or is charged incorrectly, we encourage them to notify a member of our team so we can make it right.”

In his video, Card said he had been a cook “for many years” and had experience handling steaks.

“I know (the) difference between a ribeye, a filet, a t-bone, a New York strip, all that crap,” he said in the video. “Every time I go out to eat, I know what I’m eating.”

Menu previously worked in hotel and restaurant kitchens, by Fox News Digital.

“Be careful what you order and what you pay for, because sometimes you order a filet, you get a sirloin,” he told his viewers. “It’s like a $10 steak for $35.”

According to the Texas Roadhouse location’s website, an 8 oz. the sirloin costs $19.49 and the 8 oz. The Dallas net costs $29.99.

“I’m talking about getting scammed!” Card wrote in the caption of his TikTok, also writing in text superimposed on the video: “Texas Roadhouse, shame on you!”

Card did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Some users sympathized with Card’s stance in the comments section of his video.

“This has been going on for years,” one person claimed.

Another added: “They’ve done this to me multiple times. I ordered New York strip or ribeye and got sirloin.”

However, others have questioned Card’s view.

“I’ve never had a problem with Texas Roadhouse,” one commenter wrote.

“Why do you keep going back if this keeps happening? » asked another.

“I think I’m done going,” Card said Fox News Digital.

He told the store he wanted to make sure customers got what they paid for.
